As vice chairwoman of the Conservative Campaign Committee, I’d like to share with you how hard we are working on the last stretch of Senate races all across the country. Our team has canvassed the nation via plane, train and car supporting conservative candidates through boots-on-the-ground efforts, conducting media interviews, hosting public rallies, writing op-eds, leading sign-waving events, raising money for ad buys and managing several phone-from-home campaigns. Some of us are literally, and I do mean literally, working around the clock and all throughout the night for the cause of conservatism.
Here’s a recent photo of the team at work in our war room in Colorado to support U.S. Senate candidate Cory Gardner:
All of the above-mentioned efforts are necessary to the cause of electing conservative Republican candidates in order to wield control of the Senate from Obama’s socialist regime. We desperately need representatives who represent our intrinsic, God-given rights, and this election cycle is our chance to take that control. We know what’s at stake; we know that Obama – and his minions – have it in for the American way of life. He tramples our Constitution and signs insidious legislation; he shows contempt for our veterans – whether it be ignoring the failures of the Department of Veterans Affairs or half-heartedly saluting our heroes; he purposely sends our troops into deadly conditions across the world to be ravaged by Ebola. Examples of his hatred toward American traditions increase in number daily.
At this juncture, it’s vitally important that conservatives give the utmost attention and support to worthy candidates in order to ensure victory. Several races are within striking distance, and Republicans stand a very strong chance of winning the necessary six seats to take control of the Senate.
Naturally, there is a lot of attention focused on high-profile races such as North Carolina and Louisiana where ultra-liberal senators Kay Hagan and Mary Landrieu are battling politically entrenched personal fiascoes – Hagan’s husband double dipped with stimulus funds and Landrieu kinda-sorta living in Louisiana – while trying to keep a safe distance from Barack Obama. The North Carolina Senate race, for instance, could end up being the most expensive Senate race in U.S history, surpassing $100 million dollars.
In Michigan, we have conservative Republican Terri Lynn Land battling liberal Democrat Gary Peters. Though there hasn’t been as much drama and excitement about the Michigan race as the one between Hagan and Tillis in North Carolina, Terri Lynn Land is gaining momentum like a quiet storm.
Some have counted Land out of this race, but recent fundraising reports show that she has raised more money than Gary Peters. And recently, the Washington Post ran a piece entitled, “Michigan: The Closest Race Getting the Least Attention.”
The Post, too, senses the quiet storm brewing in Michigan.
Here at the Conservative Campaign Committee, we’ve been on board for Terri Lynn Land since the beginning. We strongly believe in her conservative values and common-sense approach to saving Michigan from Democratic operatives. Here is our latest ad extolling the virtues of Terri Lynn Land, who has served as Michigan’s secretary of state. She has proposed cutting gas taxes and utilizing America’s natural resources through the Keystone XL Pipeline, which would create jobs and increase American energy security, a plan Gary Peters has repeatedly voted against.
Our immediate goal is to penetrate Michigan with the conservative message of Terri Lynn Land and completely shut down Gary Peters. Peters is canvassing Michigan on a Harley as part of his campaign outreach; that’s cool and all, but that doesn’t exempt him from the damage he’s inflicted on Michiganders through his bad policies. While Peters rides around for votes, a quiet storm is gaining momentum in conservative candidate Terri Lynn Land.
Gary Peters is just another placating politician in a long list of rubber-stamp liberals supporting Barack Obama’s agenda. As a member of Congress, Peters voted with Obama’s agenda over 90 percent of the time. He voted for Obamacare and higher taxes. And amnesty also made the cut on Peter’s agenda. No amount of pseudo biker coolness can compensate for damaging policies. If elected, Gary Peters would be an advocate for the destructive policies that bankrupted Detroit and inflict those policies on the United States as a whole. That is simply unacceptable.
A storm is definitely brewing in Michigan. Let’s help it pour down on Gary Peters by supporting Terri Lynn Land for U.S Senate.
