Taylor Lianne Chandler went by the name David Roy Fitch when, at the age of 19, she blackmailed a man she met in a Maine bar in 1992.
It was, she claims, a desperate bid to pay for gender reassignment surgery, which she completed years later before striking up a romance with Olympic gold medalist Phelps.
