(WKRN-TV) NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Nashville police’s aviation unit will fly as part of its Black Friday Safety Initiative to keep an eye on the busiest shopping centers.
Pilots will offer in-air surveillance for patrol units on the ground, spending their Thanksgiving holiday high above watching out for criminal activity.
“We can support the ground units with an asset like aviation and that gives us a better view of what is going on,” Sgt. Kurt Knapp said. “We can prevent crime and car break-ins and monitor traffic, especially around Opry Mills and the Nashville West areas.”
