(NEW YORK POST) Mayor Bill de Blasio infuriated the loved ones of those who perished 13 years ago on American Airlines Flight 587 by arriving too late Wednesday for the sacred 9:17 a.m. moment of silence at the annual ceremony in the Rockaways.
“He treated us like garbage,” said Miriam Esterlla, who lost five family members on the doomed 2001 flight.
Esterlla, one of dozens who gathered today to mark the deaths of 260 in the tragedy, waited 15 minutes before ringing a ceremonial bell to signal a moment of silence marking the exact minute when the plane went down.
