(SUN-SENTINEL) — A former coach and teacher at Cypress Bay High will no longer be allowed to teach in Florida after he allegedly had sex with one student and exchanged inappropriate texts with another.
The State Education Practice Commission mailed a letter to David Korsun, 38, of Coral Springs, on Oct. 29 saying that his teaching license had been permanently revoked. Korsun signed a settlement with the state in July where he didn’t confirm nor deny the allegations, but he agreed not to contest the state’s action.
Korsun, who could not be reached for comment despite attempts by phone, was a social studies teacher and assistant wrestling and football coach at Cypress Bay in Weston. He resigned in June 2013, after the school district recommended termination.
During the 2012-13 school year, Korsun “exchanged text messages of a sexual nature” with a 16-year old female student, the state’s administrative complaint states. Around Nov. 25, 2012, he engaged in sexual intercourse with an 18-year-old female student, the report said.
