Ronald Reagan said it clearly enough: "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."
Evidently the Republican leaders in the House and Senate do not accept or believe that truism.
By funding Obamacare and Barack Obama's admittedly unconstitutional executive action providing a sweeping amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, House Speaker John Boehner is not only betraying the will of voters in the midterm election that increased his majority, he is also complicit now in these two Democratic Party actions.

"Betrayal" is not a strong enough term for what he did. Treachery is more appropriate. He's not only ripping America and his party apart, he's compounding the deep disillusionment in our political institutions that anyone must feel who is not under the hypnotic spell of today's Democrats who subscribe to a by-any-means-necessary ethos.
Incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is no better. He has rejected the Reagan philosophy throughout his career, which is why he had a fight on his hand even to win re-election to his seat. Sadly, there is no significant challenge foreseen within his caucus for securing the top leadership position.

The combination of Boehner and McConnell could prove be lethal to the party in 2016. They simply don't personify the alternative political philosophy needed to win the White House. Their actions strongly suggest there is not much difference between the parties. Government is going to grow endlessly under their leadership, just as it will under Democrat leadership. They do not act like there are actual limits on the power of the federal government. They have no plan to stop the deficit spending that has reached an incomprehensible and unsustainable $18 trillion with no end in sight.
Simply stated, any Republican official that supports the leadership of this pair is not a part of the solution, but part of the problem.

It's time for a palace coup among Republicans to save their party from disgrace and their nation from ruin.
I believe that most Republican members of Congress know this at some level. Most, however, are convinced they can't beat the establishment. The question is how to convince them they must try anyway – they must do the right thing even if it costs them committee assignments and the perks of office.
There is a way.
I'm willing to stick my neck out and make personal and professional sacrifices for the welfare of the nation. But the purpose of this column is to determine how widespread and how deep this sentiment is nationwide.

Do you want a Republican Party that presents a real alternative to the Democrats? Are you willing to make some modest sacrifices to ensure it? Or do you believe Republican officeholders are pretty much hopeless and beyond redemption?
Be careful how you answer because America may not have another chance.
I really want to hear from you on this subject. I am not just asking rhetorical questions. I want you to email me and tell me if you are ready for the barricades and a palace revolution. Nothing short of dumping the leadership of the business-as-usual, Republican establishment, career politicians. It's now or never.
I actually have a plan that would make your voice heard inexpensively, without big time commitments – a way guaranteed to reach every Republican in Congress. It doesn't require phone calls or faxes or protest signs, marches – though I would encourage all of those activities. It's actually more effective.

But I'm not going to tell you about unless I first hear from you.
I'm not going to roll it out until I know thousands of you are as frustrated and angry as I am.
Instead, I will spend my time protecting my interests and my family for the collapse this country will surely experience with misguided, non-visionary, co-dependent collaborators like Boehner and McConnell.
So what's it going to be?
Are you ready to start the Republican revolution?
