Will that be a burger and fries with your Second Amendment?
If you think any Michael Brown types will be helping themselves to this cash register, think again. The owners and waitstaff in a Colorado restaurant are serving up protection with their meals.
In this NRA-produced video feature, “good food, friendly service and a huge helping of freedom – that’s what they’re dishing up at Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado.”
One of the servers brandishing a Ruger Blackhawk .357 on her hip said, “It’s not about politics, it’s a way of life.”
And she’s not alone. Customers at Shooters Grill are carrying too, and owner Lauren Boebert says she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“We’re certainly able to protect ourselves,” Boebert quipped.
Here’s the feature:

Little bite of the Big Apple
In last week’s Surfing’ Safari, I wrote about “Humans of New York,” a story about a New Yorker who created a social media sensation writing about fellow New Yorkers. This week, we take a look at a NYC subway video that as of this writing has attracted 3,691,982 views since it was posted on Dec. 4. It features a little girl who has captured the spirit of the music.
Liftbump.org explained, “The band Coyote & Crow covers Grateful Dead’s ‘Me & My Uncle’ in this video a friend of the band posted to reddit, and you can see that this little girl is truly the best accompaniment a band could ask for.”
One YouTube viewer commented, “I have never understood why someone doesn’t just go around the streets of NYC with a camera and create a YouTube channel about it. They’d have new material every day and maybe – just maybe – non-New Yorkers would understand what makes the city so amazing.”
Here’s what they’re talking about:

Too, two, to funny
Prepare to spend considerable time at Grammarly’s Facebook site. It’s as hilarious as it is educational.
Word Related: Flapdoodle, claptrap, tommyrot and fiddle-faddle. These are words no longer used today. Why not? They’re perfectly descriptive of their intended meaning. And despite what you might think, it’s not stultiloquence. Here are more old time expressions, some dating back as far as 400 years. Sprinkle them in future social media or Twitter tweets and impress your friends with your prodigious vocabulary!
‘Tis the season
A family in Austin, Texas, made sure their Christmas light show was going to be equal to, if not greater than, anyone else’s Christmas light show. The lights are only half the story, though. The entire show is synched with “Let It Go,” the hit song from the Disney movie “Frozen.”

This “green” display costs just $6 in electricity to run for the entire season. Posted on Nov. 27, the vid has had 1,739,530 hits. Let it go!
Related: A different version of the scene featuring the song is found in this video. The song “Let It Go” has been altered to portray the character Elsa instead as a king and has attracted well over 35 million views.
Hallelujah!
A beautiful a cappella version of “Hallelujah” by Peter Hollens and Jackie Evancho has been described as “simply angelic sounding.” Here’s why.
If you enjoyed that, listen to this:

The acoustics in the church add to the song and their talented voices – what a beautiful rendition of this treasured Christmas carol!”
