The mother of one of two terrorists killed by Israeli security forces after they murdered five people at a Jerusalem synagogue is on video bragging about the damage her son inflicted on Jews.

According to a report from Palestinian Media Watch, which posted the video online, the mother of Uday Abu Jamal praises her son for honoring her with his violence and death: “You have placed a crown [on my head] and a star upon my shoulders.”

Abu Jamal and his cousin, Ghassan, entered a Jerusalem synagogue Nov. 18. They attacked worshipers there with guns, knives and axes, killing four and a police officer who responded, authorities said.

Seven others were injured, including three seriously, and the terrorists were killed in an exchange of gunfire with Israeli security forces.

While receiving guests in her “mourning tent,” PMW reported, Uday’s mother recited a poem:

I’m wearing the embroidered gown.

How beautiful is your Martyrdom.

You have placed a crown [upon my head] and a star upon my shoulders.

O Ghassan and Uday, who carried out the operation (i.e., murder of 5),

blessed be your hands and the tips of your fingers.

Blessed be the womb that bore you,

blessed be the breasts that nurtured you.

The daughter of Gaza said:

The people of Jerusalem sacrificed their blood, children and wives for the cause.

I, daughter of Jerusalem, am giving Gaza the most beautiful gift.

Ghassan’s mother and Uday’s mother said:

I brought up my children on the religion of Islam.

Yesterday [I gave] the most beautiful gift.

The Martyrs’ blood was not spilled in vain. I am a Palestinian.

PMW reported the Palestinian Authority and Fatah have promoted Shahada, martyrdom for Allah, as a worthy goal, and some Palestinian parents celebrate the deaths of their children.

For example, the mother of the murderer of three Israeli teens in September praised him as “an angel.”

WND also reported recently Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz’ condemnation of President Obama’s “moral equivalence” in the wake of the shocking synagogue killings.

Obama had condemned the attacks and said the deaths of three Americans in the synagogue meant shared grief between the U.S. and Israel. However, he was quick to urge all sides to renounce violence, saying: “Too many Israelis have died. Too many Palestinians have died.”

He said both sides must “lower tensions.”

Dershowitz said that was exactly the wrong thing to say.

“It was moral equivalence. It was the wrong statement. It had all the wrong tone. It had all the wrong content,” he said.

“At this point in time, you unilaterally condemn only the Palestinian Authority and Hamas for incentivizing and inciting this kind of thing. You don’t bring it together with how many Palestinians may have died because they were being used as human shields,” said Dershowitz.

He noted terrorist groups approve of the U.S. and others equating their actions with those of Israel.

“Hamas is happy with moral equivalence,” Dershowitz said. “It gives them a kind of legitimacy that they don’t deserve, the kind of legitimacy that Bishop (Desmond) Tutu and Jimmy Carter had given them; but I would expect more of our president.”
