What if I were to tell you that 80 percent of the killings in New York City targeted black and Hispanic people? Think people would riot? It’s true.
In the wake of riot-ridden Ferguson, there is a lethal racial profiling in America that no one is talking about. According to the Centers for Disease Control, eight out of 10 abortions in New York City were committed against black and Hispanic babies.
Eighty percent also happens to be the number of Planned Parenthood’s abortion facilities that are in minority neighborhoods – purposely, according to Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, who was once the featured speaker at a Ku Klux Klan meeting.
According to the Racial Targeting and Population Control report issued by Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics, this isn’t just happening in New York. The report states, “There is not one state in the union without population control centers located in ZIP codes with higher percentages of blacks and/or Hispanics than the state’s overall percentage.” In fact, the report shows the racial targeting isn’t just widespread, but “often enormous,” with 42 states that have family planning facilities in areas where the “black and/or Hispanic populations exceed 200 percent of the state’s overall percentage.” In many states, that disproportionate number ranges from 250 percent to over 1,000 percent of the state’s overall minority percentage.
This is by design. A black baby is three times more likely to be killed by abortion than a white baby. There’s something to protest. And since 1973, abortion has reduced the black population by more than 25 percent. Where is the outrage?
Pastor Stephen Broden of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition and Dr. Johnny Hunter of Life Education and Resource Network were among the African-American leaders who came to the Ohio Statehouse to help pass Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill – which would protect unborn babies with a detectable heartbeat – no matter their race.
I watched these leaders lobby African-American legislators, handing them a copy of the documentary film “Maafa 21: Black Genocide in the 21st Century.” My heart broke as I heard Pastor Broden plead with them to “be a voice for our race.”
They sought a champion, but found none. Where are Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Eric Holder and Barack Obama? Stirring up racial prejudice when the evidence found none.
There is something you can do about this racial targeting that’s a lot more productive than rioting. We are standing against this lethal racial profiling in Ohio with a color-blind bill that will protect children – red, yellow, black or white – from the lethal assault of abortion, as long as their beating heart can be heard. That’s right; we’re going to use the same measuring stick to detect human life as every hospital in the world – a heartbeat.
The problem we face is that those standing in the way of this protection are “pro-life” Republicans who think being pro-life means regulating how and where we kill children. The “regulation results” they celebrate? More than 23,000 Ohio abortions each year – the equivalent of a capacity crowd at Canton’s Fawcett Stadium. If you think killing a stadium full of people each year is something to be celebrated, you’re either a terrorist or you’ve lowered the bar on what it means to be pro-life a bit too far.
What can you do? First, post this 30-second ad on your Facebook page and social media. It features Ohio Gov. John Kasich holding up presidential campaign literature depicting him as “pro-life” while school buses full of children fall off the cliff behind him – representing the daily cost of his inaction. Look closer and you’ll see a poster depicting him as “the Amnesty Candidate” along with a mug that says, “I love Common Core.”
This isn’t just about 20,000 Ohio babies. When the Heartbeat Bill is passed it will give the Supreme Court a chance to consider that once there is a fetal heartbeat, there is a 97 percent likelihood that the baby will survive to live birth – making it a much better marker than viability for legal protection allowed by the Court. This is detailed in the law review article by constitutional law professor David Forte, who testified for the bill in committee.
