Joel Richardson’s documentary “End Times Eyewitness: Israel, Islam and the unfolding signs of the Messiah’s Return,” by WND Films, was named Thursday as an official selection for the 2015 Christian Worldview Film Festival.

“As a first-time film director partnering with WND, it is truly an honor that our film has been chosen as an official selection for the 2015 Christian Worldview Film Festival,” Richardson said. “From the onset, we have only desired to convey the urgency of the hour that we’re now living in.

“Our hope has been that many within the church will return to that sobriety and focus possessed by so many of the early believers who were able to turn the ancient world upside down in just one brief generation,” he said.

Filmed in the turbulent geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and featuring a multitude of prominent Islamic voices, the movie shows viewers how the region, since the Arab Spring, has been aligning with biblical prophecy. Richardson calls attention to the apparent fulfillment of several prophetic signs that suggest Jesus Christ may soon return.

“We trust that being selected for the festival will help to further get the message out and spark a growing passion for evangelism, missions, holiness and a deeper longing for the return of Jesus, our blessed hope,” Richardson said. “For this, we are truly grateful to the selection committee, and we are excited to see what the future holds, not only for this film, but many forthcoming projects as well.”

DV504Richardson, the New York Times bestselling author of “The Islamic Antichrist” and expert on biblical prophecy, interviewed global Christian leaders, pastors, theologians and missionaries for the film. He also featured testimonies from some of the most prominent Islamic scholars in the world and leading Jewish thinkers, including:

  • Rabbi Yehuda Glick, the Temple activist recently shot in an assassination attempt;
  • Adnan Oktar, the bestselling author in the Muslim world and host of a major TV show in Turkey, who is promoting the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, stating the Muslim messianic “Mahdi” figure is alive and well on planet Earth and that he is in communication with angels about his imminent appearance to the world;
  • Sheik Ekrima Said Sabri, the son of the late and notorious grand mufti of Jerusalem, who explains the Islamic eschatological belief that Jesus will return to lead a caliphate and require Christians to convert to Islam.

WND Films has produced other award-winning works. “Disinformation: The Secret Strategy to Destroy the West,” a 2013 documentary that revealed ongoing Soviet-era disinformation campaigns against America, received a bronze Telly Award last year.

“Blood Moons,” a documentary featuring pastor Mark Biltz discussing the biblical links between cosmic phenomena and events on Earth, was an official selection at the 2014 Gideon Media Arts Conference and Film Festival.

And “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” Rabbi Jonathan Cahn’s documentary on the relevance of one Old Testament passage to America’s future, was a selection at the 2013 Gideon Media Arts Conference and Film Festival.

“Since WND Films launched with the debut of bestselling ‘The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment’ in 2012, the industry has begun to notice the exceptionally high quality of our work,” said Joseph Farah, founder and chief executive officer of WND.

He continued: “That’s a testament to the great leadership of veteran filmmaker George Escobar and also to adventurous and courageous partners like Joel Richardson, who was caught in one riot and another revolution during the making of ‘End Times Eyewitness.’ Interviewing Muslim leaders in person in their own homelands is also something you don’t see in most Christian movies.”

The 2015 Christian Worldview Film Festival will be held March 14. Festival organizers will announce finalists and category winners at that time.
