(TIMES HERALD-RECORD) MIDDLETOWN - A Middletown man has been arrested, accused of demolishing a house he does not own, without getting the proper permits, and without calling in utility companies to stop gas and electric service before the demolition.
Police say James Rhein, 48, who lived at the house he's accused of demolishing at 11 Woodland Ave., has been charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and he might face more charges.

The 840-square foot, three-bedroom ranch is now a pile of rubble sitting on a debris-strewn lot.Tuesday night, two trash containers on the lot were filled with debris, furniture and appliances. The only thing left standing from the house was what remains of the front steps. The lot is surrounded by police tape.
