Almost 5 years ago, in March of 2010, before Obamacare was passed into law, WND carried a column by me stating that the ones who really wanted Obamacare to be passed were the insurance companies.
It specifically stated:
Just like in the "Song of the South" when the rabbit says to the bear, "Don't throw me in that briar patch," the insurance companies are saying don't pass this bill … but they really want it. Otherwise, why would these Democrats be pushing it when they get so much money from insurance companies?

The top three Senate recipients for insurance industry contributions – all Democrats – are Sens. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., Chris Dodd, D-Conn., and Harry Reid, D-Nev., according to the center's research. And in the House, it's another trio of Democrats: Reps. Melissa Bean, D-Ill., Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., and Barney Frank, D-Mass.
The Center for Responsive Politics shows that President Obama received a staggering $20,175,303 from the health-care industry during the 2008 election cycle, nearly three times the amount of his presidential rival John McCain.

Many people complained that my findings were partisan and that Obama just wanted to help people who did not have health insurance. But as stated by Jonathan Gruber (adviser to Obama on health care), Obama knew he was lying when he said to America that:
- You can keep your health-care plan if you want it.
- You can keep your doctor if want.
- Taxes will not increase to pay for Obamacare.
- There are no taxes in Obamacare, just a penalty for not purchasing it.
- Abortion will be removed from Obamacare by executive order.
- Health-care/insurance costs will decrease for average Americans by $2,500 per year.

Of the 36 million people who did not have health insurance in March 2010, only 1 million now have it with Obamacare. All the rest who signed up for Obamacare had insurance prior to passage of the law.
A good friend of mine signed up for Obamacare. He is too young for Medicare, but is retired from his job. His net worth is millions of dollars. After answering the questions at the Obamacare website, he discovered that he would receive subsidies to pay his for his insurance because he has no income as an employee – just income from his investments. So taxpayers are paying for his insurance.
Insurance companies love Obamacare. Democrats passed a bill that benefits those insurance companies. It mandates that all Americans must purchase insurance. It makes taxpayers pay the premiums for those who cannot afford it (and for "unemployed" millionaires like my friend). It provides more young profitable customers to the insurance companies. It allows the government to reduce benefits so the insurance companies make more profit. It regulates fees paid to hospitals and doctors so the government acts as the negotiator for the insurance cartel. It allows insurance companies to raise rates. It makes them cancel insurance policies that were low-cost to customers. And it does nothing to end the state-sanctioned monopolies of insurance companies.
In Fortune Magazine, Jan. 1, 2015, Scott DeCario makes this comment on page 14 about Obamacare: "It's been a boon for the health-care industry … new customers to insurers, new paying patients to hospitals, and new prescription users." He continues his logic with these statistics about the percent of growth these companies experienced in 2014:

Welcare Health Plans – 32 percent
Community Health Systems – 30 percent
Aetna – 28 percent
Humana – 14 percent
United Health – 7 percent
Meanwhile GDP only increased 3 percent in 2014.
Republicans promised to repeal and replace Obamacare. They got elected to stop Obama's agenda. According to the latest Gallup poll, 57 percent of Americans want to get rid of Obamacare.
So will Republicans repeal and replace Obamacare?

It is doubtful. The insurance lobbyists spent the last five years pumping lots of money into Republican campaigns. Republicans owe them now just like how Democrats owed them in 2010. So Boehner and McConnell are now discussing tweaking Obamacare instead of repealing it and replacing it.
America got conned – first by Obama and Democrats and now by Republicans. And the Supreme Court let them do it by defining the penalties in Obamacare as taxes.
So who really represents the interests of average Americans? Certainly not politicians – Democrat or Republican.
