(WASHINGTON POST) — Well, it turns out pretending to use the toilet in the end zone will cost you. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin was fined $11,025 for his now-infamous Super Bowl “poopdown” celebration. Fox Sports reporter Mike Garafolo took first broke the news, noting the scatological celebration, which was flagged as unsportsmanlike on the field, was considered an obscene gesture.
NBC did not air the entire celebration, which came after Baldwin caught a three-yard pass from Russell Wilson in the third quarter. The broadcast showed Baldwin squatting and pulling a pair of imaginary underwear down before switching cameras to show other action. A photographer on the scene, however, caught the celebration on camera and posted it to Twitter, which caused the celebration to go viral Sunday night.
