What's the real reason a 27-year-old woman wants to marry 80-year-old Charles Manson?
The answer is possibly too crazy even for the infamous mass murderer.

According to the New York Post, journalist Daniel Simone claims Manson's fiancée, 27-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, known as Star, sought to wed the convicted mastermind of the Sharon Tate murder and eight other slayings so she could eventually put his corpse on display in Los Angeles.
Burton and associate Craig Hammond had plans to put Manson's body after he dies into a glass crypt, creating a California money-making attraction similar to Lenin's Tomb.

But Simone told the Post that Manson does not want to marry Burton and has no interest in spending eternity displayed in a glass coffin.
"He's finally realized that he's been played for a fool," Simone said.

Interestingly, another reason Manson reportedly rejected the plan is because he already believes he's immortal.
"He feels he will never die," Simone told the paper. "Therefore, he feels it's a stupid idea to begin with."
Last Thursday, Manson's and Burton's marriage license expired, but a statement on Burton's and Hammond's website says, "They plan on renewing the license, and things will move forward in the coming months."
Simone and a collaborator, Heidi Jordan Ley, are now seeking a publisher for their book, "The Retrial of Charles Manson."
The authors claim Burton and Hammond came up with the displaying of the corpse idea two years ago.

The pair originally asked Manson to sign a document granting permission to take his body upon his demise.
"He didn't give them a yes, he didn't give them a no. He sort of strung them along," Simone said.
Simone is also under the impression Manson never intended to marry Burton.
"Manson never consented to the wedding in the first place and never will," he said.
