New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson has been watching the rise of persecution against Christians across the western world, and worries it may soon come to America. "The Internet has brought close what used to be foreign. ... As Christians, we must wake up from our slumber and realize everyone's not for us," he explained.
Watson's Facebook prayer about Christians brutalized by ISIS has gone viral. He recounts the early history of persecution and wrote, "Christianity continued to spread because men and woman, empowered by the Holy Spirit stood strong in the face of certain death."

He wonders if we, too, will be martyred for our faith. "My only hope in such trying times is the power of the Holy Spirit," wrote Watson. "He is the X factor."
Watson's Facebook prayer has gone viral, with over 30,000 hits so far.
