(FOXCT) — HARTFORD – Gov. Dan Malloy will be signing an executive order banning employees on state business from traveling to Indiana due to new legislation signed last week.
The mayors of San Francisco and Seattle have also issued statements announcing bans on the spending of public funds for employees to travel to Indiana. San Francisco makes an exception for travel “essential to the public health and safety.”
Seattle will also inspect city contracts to see if any are with businesses located in Indiana.

The Indiana law gives businesses owners who oppose homosexuality for religious reasons the right to turn away gay, lesbian and transgender people. Governor Mike Pence signed the law Thursday, hailing it as a victory for “religious liberty.”
