The reportedly black leaders such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton need to encourage black men to spend time raising their children to be good citizens and accept responsibility for the result.
We, the taxpayers in America, have spent trillions of dollars to relieve black poverty, and it has not worked. The U.S. government cannot raise your children no matter the good intentions. It takes the individual effort by the parents of those children. I have a hard time supporting a black kid who marches with a sign that says, "Why should I go to jail for robbing a store?"
My church has spent more than $10 million for support of poor people, and it has made some progress, but when those people don't go to school, graduate and accept a salary for a good job, there isn't much hope for our support.
