Secretary of State John Kerry – who spent much of his post-Vietnam War service criticizing America’s involvement in the conflict – actually mocked one of Code Pink’s famous anti-war women during a Capitol Hill hearing this week.

The Hill reported Kerry was trying to speak, but the Code Pink woman cut him off several times, shouting out: “The United States is killing innocent civilians with drones!”

A frustrated Kerry finally shot back this curt reply.

“Killing more innocent people,” he said, somewhat sarcastically, The Hill said. “I wonder how our journalists, who were beheaded, and a pilot who was fighting for freedom, burned alive, what they would have to say to their efforts to protect innocent people.”

Kerry was apparently referring to ISIS terrorists who beheaded American journalists on video, and later burned a Jordanian pilot alive, also on video.

The secretary of state was on Capitol Hill to testify about the White House’s request for a reauthorization of military force against ISIS. Kerry wasn’t the only official to take umbrage with the anti-war protester.

Sen. Bob Corker said: “We live in a country where people have the opportunity to express themselves in Democratic ways. We would hope that you would allow this hearing to proceed in an orderly way and respect other citizens’ rights to be here and to observe what is happening in a civil manner. I don’t think you’re helping your cause at all. I think you’re hurting your cause,” The Hill reported.

The scolding didn’t work; the news outlet reported a second protester jumped in and interrupted Kerry’s remarks just minutes later.

Kerry in 1971 spoke before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as part of the Fulbright Hearings to explain why America, in his view, should withdraw from Vietnam.
