Patrick Leahy may hold a Senate seat that gives voice on Capitol Hill to his Vermont constituents, but it's his moonlighting role that's won him accolades from one of Hollywood's hottest, Ben Affleck.
Affleck, on Capitol Hill for a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Diplomacy and National Security hearing, confirmed Leahy is going to be part of the star-studded cast of the upcoming "Batman" movie, CNN reported.

"To Sen. Leahy," Affleck said, during his testimony, "I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my co-star in 'Batman.' The role is marginally smaller than mine, but I understand you're quite good."

Affleck plays the leading role, caped crusader Bruce Wayne, in the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," due out next year.
Leahy's appearance in the film – which wasn't elaborated upon at the hearing – won't be his first Hollywood gig. He's appeared in "Batman and Robin," "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises."

In the 2008 "The Dark Knight," he actually stole a scene with the dramatic one-liner to Heath Ledger's Joker: "We're not intimidated by thugs," he said.
