Yes, I’ll say it: Obama is anti-Semitic

By Joseph Farah

(Editor’s note: Joseph Farah wrote this column before the Obama administration betrayed Israel in the most shocking way by revealing classified information about its nuclear program.)

What’s that old adage?

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck.

Let’s apply the duck test to the question of Barack Obama’s latent anti-Semitism rising to the surface and manifesting itself in outrageous anti-Israel policies.

  • Obama used taxpayer money, his own political operatives and a nonprofit front group to interfere in the recent Israeli election, specifically with the intent of toppling Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister. It was an unprecedented move against an America ally, arguably an impeachable offense, a criminal misappropriation of government funds and, thankfully, a complete failure, like most of Obama’s foreign misadventures. It’s also prima facie evidence of Obama’s hatred of Israel – the one and only Jewish state.
  • Obama is rushing headlong into what is almost universally regarded by astute, adult foreign policy experts as an Iran nuclear deal that will actually provide all the cover Tehran needs to continue its pursuit of weapons of mass destruction, which it has consistently threatened to use to obliterate Israel – the one and only Jewish state. (Obama has done this even while Iran’s mullahs and ayatollah continue to plan a catastrophic electromagnetic pulse attack against the U.S. and scream “death to America.”)
  • Obama’s anti-Israel bent has been palpable since his first full day in office – Jan. 21, 2009 – when he gathered his new national-security team in the Oval Office and laid out a tough new policy toward Israel. Central to his strategy was pressuring Israel – the one and only Jewish state – to make whatever accommodations were necessary to accommodate the so-called “Palestinian grievances.” Israel would have to stop building homes and communities for Jews in Judea, Samaria and even the eastern part of Jerusalem. Building homes for non-Jews was fine. Obama’s White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel famously told Abe Foxman in a private meeting: “This is Israel’s moment of truth. This president is determined to make peace between Israel and the Arabs.”
  • Then came Obama’s even more famous call for a return to Israel’s pre-1967 borders – which more accurately should be termed “Auschwitz borders.” Did I mention Israel is the one and only Jewish state?

  • But was Obama really anti-Semitic or just anti-Israel? Jonathan Kellerman, the best-selling suspense novelist and a professor of clinical pediatrics and psychology at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, may have answered this question best: “My personal opinion … is that the bifurcation of Israel and Judaism is structurally fallacious. The Land of Israel is an essential ingredient of Judaism practiced fully. Thus, it is impossible to be anti-Israel and not be anti-Jewish. And in fact, the war being waged against Israel by the Muslim world is, at the core, a religious dispute. Radical Islamists no longer talk about Zionists; they come right out and broadcast their goal of eradicating worldwide Jewry.” He may have forgotten to point out the obvious: Israel is the one and only Jewish state.
  • Then there was one anecdote many have forgotten. Early in the Obama administration, James Jones, a retired Marine Corps general served as Obama’s national-security adviser. He began a speech at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy with the following “joke.” Judge it for yourself: “I’d just like to tell you a story that I think is true. It happened recently in southern Afghanistan. A member of the Taliban was separated from his fighting party and wandered around for a few days in the desert, lost, out of food, no water. And he looked on the horizon and he saw what looked like a little shack and he walked toward that shack. And as he got to it, it turned out that it was a little store owned by a Jewish merchant. And the Taliban warrior went up to him and said, ‘I need water. Give me some water.’ And the merchant said, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t have any water, but would you like to buy a tie? We have a nice sale of ties today.’ Whereupon the Taliban erupted into a stream of language that I can’t repeat, but about Israel, about Jewish people, about the man himself, about his family, and just said, ‘I need water, you try to sell me ties. You people don’t get it.’ And impassively the merchant stood there until the Taliban was through with his diatribe and said, ‘Well, I’m sorry that I don’t have water for you and I forgive you for all of the insults that you’ve levied against me, my family, my country. But I will help you out. If you go over that hill and walk about two miles, there is a restaurant there and they have all the water you need.’ And the Taliban, instead of saying thanks, still muttering under his breath, disappears over the hill, only to come back about an hour later. And walking up to the merchant, he says, ‘Your brother tells me I need a tie to get into the restaurant.'” It’s worth pointing out to Jones and his former boss the simple fact that no Jews live in Afghanistan. It once boasted a vibrant Jewish community, but it is now, as the Nazis liked to say Judenrein. Reminder: Half the Jews of the world live in Israel – the one and only Jewish state.
  • And let’s not forget Obama’s own incredibly revealing comment following the slaughter of Jews in a French kosher deli: “Look, the point is this: My first job is to protect the American people. It is entirely legitimate for the American people to be deeply concerned when you’ve got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.” Randomly? The deli shooter, Amedy Coulibaly, had previously pledged support for ISIS, and his wife even filmed a propaganda video for the group calling for more terror attacks on France. Porte de Vincennes was a kosher deli servicing Jews. All four of Coulibaly’s murdered hostages were Jews. French President Francois Hollande said the hostage situation “was obviously a horrible anti-Semitic attack.” What’s random about Jew-haters attacking Jews?

Barack Obama and his defenders love to shovel out the racist charge against anyone who as much as sniffs mild opposition to his polices. But how does he do on the duck test?

He looks like an anti-Semite. He walks like an anti-Semite. And he talks like an anti-Semite. I am forced to conclude there’s a malignant anti-Semite in the White House. It’s time for Jews who have been reflexively supporting him for too long to see if for themselves.
