As we approach the 2016 presidential race, I think it is time to look at some basic issues candidates should focus on.
Hunger in America is unacceptable. No man, woman or child should be allowed to go hungry ever. We live in a land of plenty. We pay farmers not to grow.
Homelessness in America is unacceptable. Every man, woman and child should have a decent place to live. We have thousands of acres of land claimed by the Bureau of Land Management. This land should not be sold to foreign countries for profitable enterprises for private individuals.

Medical care in America is disgusting. Every man, woman and child should be able to obtain and receive medical care. Those people that cannot afford to pay for medical care are penalized by the IRS under Obamacare. America's medical care is a profitable enterprise, and those that run it make millions in profits every year. Medical care should be free for everyone.
Education in America should be free and available to everyone. Schools from kindergarten through university should be of equal quality.

Jobs in America should be available to everyone willing and able to work under retirement age. No one should ever be refused the opportunity to work and receive a day's wages!
We are not a country that is fearful to fight for our existence. Our military should not be underfunded or be left to fight with inferior weaponry compared to our potential adversaries. America must be strong and second to none in defense of our homeland.

Americans should receive responsible government from elected representatives. Americans all too frequently elect politicians that look to feed from the public trough and grow rich serving the rich (1 percent of Americans), corporations and special interests. We read and hear in the media about congressmen in Washington, D.C., violating ethic and laws too frequently!
Bigotry in America exists. Bigotry over race, religion, creed and sexual orientation must be prosecuted. This bigotry must not be allowed to masquerade as religion by any American. This is not freedom of religion!
I dare any of the 2016 presidential candidates to approach any one of these real issues America faces now!
