"What's your name? Who's your daddy?" – Zombies, 1968
I thought recently of that question, posed so well in the tune "Time of the Season," that the Zombies rock group popularized in 1968. I suspect the songwriter had something else in mind than we do in posing that question, but a good question can serve many masters. It's an important question, because much of what we are and will become flows from our fathers.
Not only is that true in earthly matters, it is true in heavenly matters. That brings us initially to "The Future of World Religions," a study released last week by the Pew Research Center. The study projects near-parity between the numbers of Christians and Muslims in the world by 2050.

To arrive at that parity, Pew doesn't seem to take into account the slaughter of Christians around the world by militant Muslims – or the indifference of the "developed" world toward this slaughter. Pew does, however, take into account the much higher birthrates of Muslims. Who's your daddy?
Secular organizations like Pew do treat all religions the same, however: as quaint traditions observed by the fathers and passed on down to the sons and daughters. Parity is therefore viewed as a form of equality, much to be desired and promoted – even more so than truth itself.

I think Pew peed away their donors' money. By the year 2050 the world will be almost entirely secular, or completely Christian.
The secular world currently believes it is god. They believe that technology is that manifestation for the masses. Christians and Muslims offer the secular world's only real competition. Jews talk a good line, but most of them vote secular. So from this world's perspective, it makes perfect sense to play the Christians and Muslims against each other, and reduce both populations.

The secular world's only problem is … God really does exist, and he has made clear that he has other plans. The secular world's god has said much the same thing. Jesus dealt with this issue while he sparred with the religious leaders of his day. He reduced the issue to fatherhood: Who's your daddy?
"You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false" (John 8:44 Amplified Bible).
So your father is either God, or the devil. The secular world is, to paraphrase Einstein on what we call reality, "an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."
The secular world has a father, and it's not the God whom Jesus called Father. I would be very surprised if the illusion of the secular world persists until 2050.
What's your name? Who's your daddy?
