Two funeral workers have been fired after social media erupted in outrage for their pit stop at a Florida Dunkin' Donuts, where they left the hearse with a flag-draped casket in the parking lot.
One of the Dunkin Donuts' employees took a video of the scene, sharing it ultimately with a veterans' group. Inside the hearse was the body of 84-year-old Lt. Col. Jesse Coleman, Fox News reported.

"What could they have been thinking? I haven't got the foggiest idea," said Veterans Funeral Care President Jim Rudolph to ABC Action News in Tampa.

Rudolph also said the two employees have been fired.
"It's not what we do," he said, of the coffee stop. "That's absolutely a total lack of respect."

Fox News reported family members of Coleman said they forgive the employees, who only had to make about a 90-minute drive to transport the body to the funeral site.
