The tragic shooting of nine Christians in a Charleston, South Carolina, church was a horrific crime by a deranged man. Rather than allowing the community to unite and find healing as they mourned their dead, predictably the liberal media could not let a good crisis go to waste and pounced on an unrelated issue to continue their agenda to divide the nation from within.
They chose the Confederate battle flag as their latest target and proclaimed it to be a symbol of Southern racism. They knew they could count on politically correct, thin-skinned Republicans to crawl like snakes to appease the left’s demands. With the economic flourishing of the South and blacks fleeing blue states for the South, liberals in their deranged state of mind seek to destroy what they cannot control.
For those of us who know history, we understand that these hypocritical Democrats are anything but champions against racism.
After all, wasn’t the Confederate flag a symbol of a segregated Democratic South? For liberals who only know their own revised versions of American history, let’s remind them that Southern Democrats were the party of slavery and secession from the Union.
It was Southern Democrats who created the KIu Klux Klan and carried out white supremacist lynchings of blacks. Until his death a few years ago, Robert Byrd from West Virginia, who had been a member of the KKK, sat in the U.S. Senate.
It was Southern Democrats who, after Reconstruction ended, were responsible for Jim Crow laws on the state and local level mandating racial segregation and disenfranchisement with poll taxes and literacy tests required for voting.
It was Democratic President Woodrow who re-segregated the military.
It was Democrats who kept segregation alive even though capitalism was already desegregating the South in the 20th century.
It was Southern Democrats who stood in the doorways of universities to deny access to blacks.
Public school textbooks ignore the fact that it was the Republican Party driving the civil rights legislation while Democrats filibustered to block it. What better way to permanently change the attitude of future voters than to ignore facts that might influence how they will vote?
After the passage of the bill, Democrats decided to twist the truth – yet again – and boasted that they had fought on the side of black Americans for the purpose of changing their voting pattern from Republican to Democrat.
Progressive socialists in the Democratic Party still control the lives of black Americans through their political manipulations that create many of the crises in the black community.
No, the Confederate flag is not the real issue in South Carolina. The real issue is the liberals’ attempt to erase the history of the South in their march to obliterate every last vestige of our republic. Even more so, it’s really the attempt by Democrats to erase their own history – their cruel promotion of slavery and the use of their political power to subjugate blacks to a life of government dependency.
Removing every last Confederate flag will not stop liberals. Everything offends them. What is their next target? The Washington Monument? The America flag? They are already targeting that on university and school campuses because they understand the power of education to forever change a people to fit the crazed mind’s view of a perfect world. Did we not learn a lesson from the Hitler and the Third Reich? Well, I guess not since the liberals have been actively changing that story also.
It took the liberals only a few days to terrify the public so much that businesses have yanked the Confederate flag from store shelves and online retail sites. People are racing against the clock to see how fast they can wipe away every mention of the Confederacy – and with it Southern history.
This diatribe is not a debate on whether Confederate flags should be flown over a state capitol but rather is meant to point out that once again the Marxist liberals have used psychological bullying to cower the American people into submissiveness. This is about our Republican leaders caving to the demands of the left rather than confronting the real issue and exposing the sinister plot of the radical left wing in our nation.
America, don’t be so hasty in obliterating symbols of the Confederacy. It is a part of our U.S. history and a reminder of the dark days of slavery in our American experiment and how we are working still to become a better nation.
