WikiLeaks: We’ll pay $100,000 to see trade deal

WikiLeaks is offering $100,000 to anyone who can provide its company staffers with a copy of the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal, the secretive pact being pushed by President Obama.

The organization released a video asking for donations to raise the money, the Hill reported.

The White House is currently negotiating the TPP in a highly secretive manner, shutting out the public on its specifics and requiring even members of Congress who want to peruse its details to visit a special room to view the text and sign an agreement to keep quiet about what they read.

Unions by and large oppose the TPP pact, saying it would lower wages for all. And many union members took to the streets of Washington, D.C., to call on Congress and the Obama administration to release the full text of the agreement so the public could better understand what’s being debated.

The International Business Times reported the union members were joined by Reps. Rosa Delauro and Lloyd Doggett.

Obama, meanwhile, has asked Congress to give him fast-track authority to pass the TPP without having to go through the public scrutiny, open-amendment process, the Hill reported
