(KFOR) The two youngest children in U.S. history to be tried as adults for murder are scheduled to be released from prison in less than two weeks, according to Florida Today.
In 1999 Curtis Jones, 12, and his 13-year-old sister Catherine pleaded guilty to using their father’s gun to kill his girlfriend, Nicole Speights.
Child-welfare reports revealed the siblings had been the targets of sexual abuse by another male relative living in their home, according to Florida Today.

Curtis and Catherine allegedly planned to kill him, their father, and Speights after their cries for help went unanswered.
