(Orlando Sentinel) A Fruitland Park mother pleaded for help between sobs on a 911 call after her 7-year-old daughter was attacked by the K-9 dog of a neighbor who is a Wildwood police officer.

“A dog jumped over a fence and bit her in the neck!” Jamie Goodridge cried. “Oh, my God! … please, I need somebody to help! … There’s a huge hole in her neck!”

A 7-year-old Fruitland Park girl was attacked by the K-9 dog of a neighbor who is a police officer.

Deputies said Wildwood police Officer Douglas Pelton let his K-9, Doki, run around in the backyard of his home about 6:15 p.m. Sunday. The young girl, Julianne Goodridge, walked up to the brush-covered fence and reached out to pet Doki. When the dog lashed out and tried to bite her, she quickly backed away from the fence, but Doki leapt it and through the shrubbery and attacked her, a report said.
