I've been thinking a lot about Hillary Clinton lately.
Why? Well I'm worried – scared, actually – that she may become our next president.
The reason Hillary scares me is because I've seldom seen someone so infected with the lust for power that it overrides everything else – common sense, fame, fortune, wealth, infamy, scandals, even the joy of becoming a grandmother for the first time.

Say what you will about Barack Obama – and believe me, I've said a lot – the man never struck me as being personally power-hungry to the point of obsession. President Obama is an evil man to be sure, and he certainly has a lust for power. But his desires are ideologically driven. His ends will be justified by his means. Barack Obama breaks the law for a purpose far beyond himself.
But while every politician is power-hungry to an extent (it goes with the territory), Hillary takes it to a level seldom seen. And for her, it's personal. Sometimes it crosses the border into insanity.

Of course, all politicians will deny they're in it for the power. They'd never get elected if they told the blunt truth. Rather, they always dress up their desire in pretty and sympathetic language: "I want to help the poor." "I want to make things more fair." "I want to give health care to everyone." In short, they're only trying to do for people what they cannot do by themselves. How noble. How selfless. How full of bull.

Why does Hillary want the presidency so badly? At an age when most people are more interested in settling into their golden years and enjoying the quiet, simple things in life, Hillary covets what is arguably the most arduous job in the world: leading the nation. You will never be able to convince me she wants this position to selflessly and altruistically help Joe Sixpack get back on his feet, or even to usher in a New World Order. No, she wants the POWER – for herself.
Power-lust isn't limited to politicians, of course. There are people in every walk of life whose lust for power propels them into positions of authority. But only the government can compel citizens to obey the whims set by power-mad politicians. Even if the CEO of a private company got his position because of his lust for power, he cannot force me to purchase his product or obey his edicts. But politicians can – and do.
Nor is this power-madness anything new. This is why our Founding Fathers and early leaders urged politicians to believe in God. Consider this quote from Noah Webster's 1832 book, "History of the United States": "When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers 'just men who will rule in the fear of God.' … If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made not for the public good so much as for the selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws."
Our founders knew the dangers of having someone wholly unrestrained by a higher power become the most powerful person in the nation. If you have no God to guide you, and you're willing to disregard and bulldoze over the constraints in the Constitution and Bill of Rights, it really doesn't matter what you do to achieve that power.

I don't know anything about Hillary's religious beliefs, but if her behavior ("fruits") is anything to go by, I don't think they're very strong. Despite the almost daily new accusations and evidence of death, destruction, corruption, evasion, scandal or vice laid at her feet, she simply shrugs it off and asks, what difference does it make? She doesn't care about her track record – she just wants what she wants. Relentlessly. Single-mindedly. Ruthlessly.
What is it that makes these people tick? What motivates people like Hillary? If it's political kudos she wants, then she should be satisfied to rest on her laurels (or thorns, depending on your point of view) after decades of public office including first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state. But no, that's not enough. Make no mistake: Hillary wants the presidency so badly she's willing to smash anything and anyone who gets in her way.
To those who don't possess it, the lust for power is neither understood nor fully comprehended … and thus, dangerously, likely to be dismissed as an unimportant component of a politician.
Edward Gibbon wrote in his book "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire": "Of all our passions and appetites, the love of power is of the most imperious and unsociable nature, since the pride of one man requires the submission of the multitude."

I am one of the multitude. So are you, and you, and you. Do you really want to submit to Hillary? Power in the hands of the insanely power-mad will be a heavy yoke on the American people.
Beyond Hillary's lack of credentials (please ask yourself, what has she accomplished?), I beg you to consider this: Watch out for someone who is so power-driven that he or she is willing to lie, cheat, steal and harm others to attain a goal. That is not the kind of person we need as president. If we elect immoral candidates, we get immorality. Why is this so hard to understand?
But sadly, she is likely to be voted in by the stupid sheeple who are too busy texting and watching Kim Kardashian's butt to pay attention to Hillary's power-lust. There is a large segment of our society who simply wants a president with two X chromosomes, no matter how unstable.
And that, my friends, is what scares me.
