(The Oregonian) The two professional women in their late 40s shocked many when they walked into a North Portland convenience store carrying a piece of wood with protruding nails and attacked the store’s owners last November.
Dionne Preston, 48, was program director of the Miracles Club, a Portland nonprofit that helps recovering addicts maintain their sobriety.
Her friend, Mamie Powell, 49, was an Oregon Department of Human Services caseworker who helped people get connected with food stamps and other services.
