I appreciate all the readers’ thanks for one of my most popular columns last week, the “Single smoking-gun email that should bury Hillary.”
This week I’d like to inform you about another symptomatic crack in the Clinton armor: the turning of her own party against her via the example of a deceased Democrat’s dying request about Hillary.
True, some last words can be sarcastic and superficial. But many, if even said tongue-n-cheek, can represent the deceased’s profound core values and most sincere sentiment.
Here are a few of the latter:
Composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s last words were, “Friends applaud, the comedy is finished.”
Actor Errol Flynn said near his dying breath: “I’ve had a hell of a lot of fun and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”
After a priest told Charlie Chaplin, “May the Lord have mercy on your soul,” he replied, “Why not? After all, it belongs to him.”
Roughly a week ago on Aug. 13, a former long-term actress at the Broadway Theatre in Pitman, Pennsylvania, Elaine Fydrych, died after a tough battle with lung cancer. Her entertainment career started in the 1950s, when she sang, danced and played a ukulele on Philadelphia TV children’s shows. Until she retired in 2013, she performed multiple times annually at the Broadway Theatre, including in its children’s theater, according to Philly.com.
Elaine may not have been known like a Beethoven, Flynn or Chaplin, but her dying words were just as sincere and representative of her inner convictions. And they have recently even gained her national and global attention through the media.
A few weeks before she passed away, Elaine told her husband of 37 years, Joseph, to include this request in her obituary for anyone who wanted to honor her memory: “Elaine requests, ‘In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary Clinton.'” So it became the last line – her last words – in her obituary.
Elaine might have had a love for theatre and been a stand-up comic, but her parting words from this life were no acting line or comedy quip.
Joseph explained to FoxNews.com, “If you knew Elaine, you’d say yep that’s Elaine. It was a fitting end for the woman. It was very appropriate that she go out this way.”
Joseph added, “The more she found out about Hillary, the more she didn’t like her and thought it would be a complete catastrophe if the U.S. elected her president.”
London’s Daily Mail reported that Joseph further explained that his wife wasn’t even really “a political person,” though she was a registered Democrat. He explained that she “grew to strongly dislike Clinton after the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi and believed Clinton’s handling of the matter as secretary of state was ‘terrible.'”
Her words and sentiment reminded me of another of my past columns, “Even libs say no to Hillary in 2016.”
Not surprisingly, according to Hillary’s drooping popularity, many of those who have signed Elaine’s online guestbook have made it known they will comply with her request not to vote for Hillary if she becomes the 2016 Democrat nominee.
One wrote: “Prayers to your family Elaine and may you rest peacefully till the coming of our Lord. I will certainly honor your wish NOT to vote for Hillary.”
Another wrote, “Elaine was obviously a very smart woman. I promise to NEVER vote for Hillary Clinton in her honor.”
And still another simply put it, “I sure will honor your request with glee.”
Maybe we all could take a moment to sign her online guestbook and share our condolences with Elaine’s family as we also echo our commitment to comply with her request not to vote for the 2016 Democrat frontrunner.
Fox.com again noted how Elaine wasn’t the first to jab at Hillary in their obituary. In April, the family members of an avid North Carolina Republican made a similar political plea in his obituary, as reported by WSOC-TV.
Elaine’s husband, Joseph, said: “She wanted to go out with a punch, and I think she did that.”
She most certainly did, Joseph.
Bottom line, our country as our Founders knew and established it, is already on oxygen and being suffocated by Washington’s political gridlock. Voting for Hillary is like hanging a DNR (do not resuscitate) order on the White House and Capitol building.
Rest in peace, Elaine. And, hopefully through the ballot box or lack thereof, we can help you help Hillary politically to do the same.
