Chris Norman, a Brit, helped pin the terrorist down and tie him up. He said in a press conference that his actions had been motivated "purely by survival".
"I figured, I'm probably going to die anyways, so let's go.... Either you sit down and you die, or you stand up and you die," he said in a press conference.
The gunman has now been identified as Ayoub El-Khazzani, who travelled to Syria within the last year and may have ties to a terrorist group.
