A semi-bitter but joking President Obama told members of the national press Derek Jeter, of former New York Yankees fame, took advantage of him on the golf course during a match in Nevada last November, only half-humorous when he cracked: the guy’s a hustler, he said.

Politico reported the president is still a bit miffed at his loss to Jeter, whom he thought was less-than-adequate at golf.

Obama said, in reference to Las Vegas Sun owner Brian Greenspun and Jeter, of their recent golf match: “[They] stole money from me at Shadow Creek. It was clearly a setup, because when we got to the practice range, he was shanking balls everywhere. I said, ‘You play golf Derek?’ And he said, ‘I just started two weeks ago,'” Bleacher Report found.

Clearly, that wasn’t the case, though, Obama suggested.

Politico went on: “They gave Jeter 30 strokes, Obama said, but he realized that was a mistake as soon as they were on the first hole. Jeter crushed him, he said.”

Obama also said there were no hard feelings.

“We had to take a picture of me handing Derek Jeter money at the end of the game,” he said, Bleacher Report reported. “Despite that, Brian is a great friend.”
