Sticker shock at U.S. gas pumps

By Around the Web

(NBC News) There’s a valid explanation for the sudden huge hike in gasoline prices but that won’t likely appease angry consumers who are being hit by sticker shock at the pumps.

A shutdown of the seventh largest refinery in the U.S. this week caused the wholesale price of gas to jump which in turn caused a hike of the retail price which motorists pay to fill up their tanks.

That is leaving consumers scratching their heads about the sudden spike.
