Trump exposes media hypocrisy

By Curtis Ellis

UNITED NATIONS – Donald Trump exposes the bankruptcy of establishment journalism and establishment politics.

Trump’s straight talk contrasts with the mendacity of the political class. He speaks a truth the Beltway establishment has declared off-limits, yet everyone who works for a living understands: Unrestricted immigration and the offshoring of American jobs through phony “free trade” deals are an unmitigated disaster for our country.

This apostasy has the GOP sachems foaming at the mouth and demanding Trump be excommunicated, if not beheaded.

Trump’s truth-telling also has the corporate media flummoxed. They just can’t seem to understand his appeal.

They declare Trump isn’t offering specific policy proposals, he isn’t addressing “the issues Republican voters care about.”

They say this though Trump’s opposition to so-called “free trade” and open borders addresses two issues Republican voters care deeply about.

But these topics are verboten in polite (political) company, so the presstitutes are unable to hear the words Trump speaks. As a result, the pundits natter on about voters supporting him because they are “angry,” a code word for irrational and stupid.

By demanding Trump provide “substance” on “the issues,” the media hounds expose their own hypocrisy.

When was the last time political journalists were interested in substance and policy?

They devote hours of airtime talking about who’s up in the polls and jabber endlessly about who’s raised more money, but not a word about what the candidates promise in return for these legal bribes. Have they ever talked about Jeb Bush, Common Core and the millions he receives from Common Core corporate cronies? Or the legislation supported by Marco Rubio that would triple the number of foreign guest-worker visas?

The truth is, the presstitutes are constitutionally incapable of policy reporting any deeper than “supporters say it’s good, critics say it’s bad,” for that would require independent thinking on their part. They would have to make a judgment, one that might offend their corporate johns.

While reporters cynically pretend to be interested in issues and substance from the pols, voters are smarter.

They know Obama promised to renegotiate NAFTA, but instead pushed more of the same, the Trans-Pacific Partnership. They know he promised hope and change, and meant he hopes we don’t notice when he changes America.

They know Mitch McConnell and the rest of the GOP establishment promised to fight an out-of-control president, then fought to give that president more power to fast track Obamatrade, surrendered on executive amnesty and set themselves up to fail on everything from the budget to the Iran deal.

The American people know when politicians offer “substance”; it is fecal matter, to put it politely.

And they know Donald Trump is not a politician. They can smell it.
