Donald Trump weighed in on New England Patriots’ Tom Brady and his ongoing saga with the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell over the inflation levels of Super Bowl footballs, saying his “great friend” has been treated poorly and deserves better.
“I think it’s ridiculous the way they’ve treated him,” Trump said on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Fox Sports reported. “He’s a friend of mine, he’s a great friend of mine. He’s a great guy. I think it’s terrible the way they’ve treated him.”
Trump suggested it’s high time the months-long Deflategate has wrapped.
“The country has bigger problems,” he said.
Trump also admitted he’s drafted Brady for years in fantasy football.
“I have taken him for years and if you have done some friendly bets on Tom Brady, you’ve done very well,” he said.
