(New York Daily News) -- Donald Trump has stopped insulting people long enough to finally release his first policy paper — on immigration reform.
It is every bit as shallow, ignorant and dangerous as one would expect from the man who launched his campaign by smearing Mexicans who cross the border as drug-runners and rapists.
But there’s a silver lining here. By finally moving beyond bluster to, theoretically, policy, Trump reveals how callous, unworkable and economically catastrophic his immigration ideas would be in real-world America.

Most famously, Trump wants to build a humongous border wall — and have Mexico pay for it. He now explains he would get the money with measures like upping entry and visa fees.
