Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker tossed aside what he characterized as a silly question on Friday from a member of the press who wanted to know if he’d meet with Black Lives Matter members, saying the reporter’s question was “ridiculous” and he’d rather focus on his platform.
The London Daily Mail asked Walker during one of his presidential campaign stops: “if organizers for the Black Lives Matter movement came to you and said, ‘We want to sit down [with you],’ would you do it?”
And Walker’s response, the Daily Mail reported, was less than receptive.
“That’s a ridiculous question,” he said. “I’m going to talk to voters. It’s a ridiculous question.”
Walker also said he was planning on focusing his presidential campaign time in New Hampshire on “things that matter.”
He said of a potential meeting with Black Lives Matter: “I’m going to meet with voters. I mean, I’ve said, it’s not just – who knows who that is? … I’m going to talk with American voters. Period. It’s the same way as saying you’re going to meet with the tea party. Who’s the tea party? There’re hundreds of thousands of people out there.”
