Remember the 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz"? Of course you do; it's a classic known round the world. Do you remember at the end of the film in one of the more poignant moments when Dorothy doesn't make it into the balloon to get back home? She feels that all she has gone through and done was for naught because her dream of getting back home had been dashed. Not so, says Glinda the Good Witch: "You've always had the power to go back home … but if I told you, you wouldn't have believed me, you had to learn it for yourself." At that point Dorothy realizes that she had what she was looking for all along, and declares, "If I ever go looking for my heart's desire, I won't look any further than my own backyard, because if it isn't there, I never really lost it in the first place."
Republican elites, listen up! Take some advice from young Dorothy and realize that for decades you have been buying into the Democratic propaganda that you need to change your values and the ideals that you stand for in order to win elections. You have been conned into believing that if you bend and twist into something you're not, you will bring more people into the voting booth. Your quest to lure new and different voters by softening your beliefs has caused you to ignore and cast aside your own voter base. You have taken your loyal solid support and dismissed it. This is the reason the top three candidates for president on the Republican side are outsiders and not politicians.
Conservative Americans know the truth, and they can see that playing the Democrats' game has just dug the country into a deep hole and taken us far from who we are as a country. They can see that the elites that run the Republican Party are searching and looking for their "heart's desire" in a candidate that is squishy and moderate and wants to "reach across the aisle" to placate the opposition. Well, it isn't working anymore. We are done with the John McCains, Mitt Romneys, Jeb Bushes, John Boehners and Mitch McConnells. We are over trying to look beyond our own backyard for something that works because we have had what works all along. We have our morals, our values, our standards and traditions, and we have looked the other way in frustration when they have been tested and mocked. Time and time again the leaders we have elected have backed down, compromised and let our traditional conservative values get trampled to make nice with the bullying Democratic Party and a dictatorial president.

The Democratic Party is done. They may not know it yet, but they are not the Democratic Party we have known in the past. They have lost every shred of dignity and morality they ever had, and if John Kennedy or Harry Truman were alive today, they would be appalled. Barack Obama has to be in large part responsible for his party's demise. Why? Because he is the "divider in chief," the agitator and the apologizer for a great nation that is gasping for breath. Not only does he buddy up to our enemies like Iran and Cuba, but he turns his back on our greatest ally, Israel, which he has put solidly in the bull's-eye by forcing through this abomination of an Iran deal. He ignores the will of the American people and makes his own laws while trampling the Constitution. He condones the war on his own citizens by not making even the slightest attempt to stop the slaughter of police officers, and he has vowed to veto a Republican bill to stop the funding of Planned Parenthood. When a president and a party can condone the murder of still-alive aborted babies in order to harvest their body parts, I would say that they have crossed the line and will forever be thought of as barbaric.
We have an incredible opportunity to wake up and stand our ground starting now. If you look at the debate from last week, ignoring the fact that CNN was trying to force a food fight, you can see that we have an unbelievably strong group of candidates that can articulate the concerns of the American people. Some are stronger than others in standing for our values, and those will be the few that rise to the top as time goes on. The stronger the conservative message, the higher they rise in the polls. The squishy, wiggly ones will fall by the wayside.
Our time is now. Look at it realistically. We have a strong platform and a strong, diverse group of candidates. The Democratic Party has become what they always accused us of being – the party of old, rich, white people whose leading candidate is under criminal investigation, whose second leader is a declared, radical socialist, and then add to that a line of old, tired, morally bankrupt players.

Why do you think the Democrats need to open the borders and legalize millions of people? They have no leaders except for those that promise to provide "everything to everyone." What is their value system? What do they even stand for? Why do they want to offer asylum to thousands of refugees from the Middle East? It certainly isn't because they are humanitarians and are concerned for the fate of Christians and the rights of women. If that were the case, where have they been for the past few years? Their cards are losing and they are fighting to stay in the game even if it means surrendering to our enemies and allowing terrorists to enter our country carte blanche. They are desperate, and desperation leads to danger.
So it is now up to the Republican Party to realize that they have the winning hand and have always had the power to win. They have to show their strength and not back down anymore. They must understand that they don't need to go looking for their "heart's desire" because it is right here in America waiting to be revived.
