An Amtrak train traveling southbound through the middle of Vermont derailed and injured at least four.
NBC News said the accident occurred in Northfield, about 10 miles from Montpelier.

Montpelier Fire Department Lt. Dana Huoppi said no deaths have been reported.
Five cars actually derailed and another two jumped track and went into a ditch, Huoppi said.

The train, called the "Vermonter," is the daily service for travelers between St. Albans, Vermont, and Washington, D.C.

Amtrak put out a tweet: "We are aware of the derailment of train 55 in VT. Emergency personnel are on the scene & we are assessing the situation. Updates to follow."
