Today's Americans are being simultaneously confronted with two startling and equally ominous pictures of their own lives, WND Managing Editor David Kupelian told Laura Ingraham on her popular radio show this morning.
One picture is of Obama-era transformation of the nation as a whole: "We're all looking at the presidential contest, we're looking at the national stage [where] marriage is redefined," said Kupelian, "there's a new concept of what gender is, we're looking at socialized medicine – all the big macro 'fundamental transformations' of America.
"But at the same time, there's another picture, on the individual level," he continued, where Americans are burdened by personal horrors like rampant divorce, drug abuse and pornography: "You have 110 million people with sexually transmitted diseases in this country, millions of us are depressed, one in four middle-aged women are taking antidepressants right now. ... Addiction is huge, family breakdown – all these horrible problems. Who is connecting the dots between these two pictures?" he asked.

Kupelian was discussing his newly released book, "The Snapping of the American Mind: Healing a Nation Broken by a Lawless Government and Godless Culture."
"What I'm doing with 'The Snapping of the American Mind' is I'm connecting all of the dots," he said. Characterizing his latest work as "a serious prosecutorial indictment" of the Obama-era left, with "400 endnotes, lots of research and statistics," Kupelian said the book documents definitively how "this wonderful Utopian transformation that the left has promised us is actually causing a large part of this wretchedness and destruction that we see on the individual level."

Editor's note: Listen to Kupelian for two hours late tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) discussing "The Snapping of the American Mind" on "Coast to Coast AM" with George Noory, starting at 3 am Eastern.
Regarding tonight's Democratic presidential debate, Kupelian commented on today's far-left leadership, including "our current Brainiacs [like] Bernie Sanders, who Rush last week called 'an aging, hippie communist,'" and Hillary Clinton, who Kupelian likened to a "teal-life Nurse Ratched who some people think should be in prison."

In the lively interview, Kupelian and Ingraham went on to agree there is a real answer to America's daunting problems. That solution comes, said Ingraham, not from a new federal benefits program, congressional action or trendy thought, but through "spiritual awakening."
Referring to Kupelian's closing argument in "The Snapping of the American Mind," Ingraham said: "Your point is that we need a spiritual awakening because only through a close relationship with God, and if you're Christian obviously with Jesus Christ, are you going to be able to put on that battle armor and go out there and resist the temptations, whether it's pornography, or defeatism, or alcoholism, or drugs. You just need it, because it's not easy going into the lion's den every day, and the culture is a lion's den. Because they're going to call you names, and they're going to ridicule you, and they're going to call you stupid, and you're a hayseed, and you're a Troglodyte, and you're anti-immigrant, or you want to control women's bodies.
"But no, you say, I want to do the good thing, I want to celebrate virtue, I'm counter cultural now. This is kind of a counter-cultural book now, if you ask me, David. Good job! I love it. 'The Snapping of the American Mind.'"
Ingraham, long a top-rated radio talker and Fox News personality who recently launched a new website called LifeZette, closed the interview by saying: "David's a compelling writer, and the way he presents the narrative of what's happened to our political psyche, our spiritual psyche, all of it, is really compelling. It's a page-turner. I really urge you all to get this book."
She added, "Some people may think, 'Oh I already know all this stuff, we're going to hell in a handbasket, why do I need to read it?' Because you need to know the way out! And we need to help each other."

His newest was released Tuesday.
Revelations contained within "The Snapping of the American Mind" include:
- How the left has succeeded in redefining not just “marriage” but the rest of Americans’ core values, from “equality” to “justice” to “freedom”;
- Why America, unquestionably the least racist nation on earth, is now being portrayed as a deeply racist pariah state;
- Why the United States is intentionally being flooded with millions of needy, dependent, Third World immigrants;
- How a group that amputates healthy body parts and has a 41 percent attempted suicide rate is officially declared “normal,” yet new “research” suggests conservatives have malformed brains;
- Which of the two major U.S. political parties has a far higher incidence of mental illness;
- Why Americans today are more stressed-out, confused, conflicted and addicted than at any time in the nation’s history – and where this ominous trend is leading.
"Ultimately," says Kupelian, the book "is focused on understanding, on real solutions, on healing, on redemption."
Indeed, the book's final chapters, he says, "explore in detail how America can be restored to her former, and still underlying, goodness and greatness – and just as important, how individuals, despite living in an age of high anxiety, moral confusion and growing chaos, can find genuine happiness and personal healing."
