There's hope for 'America the Bizarre'

NEW YORK – As Americans enter the 2016 presidential-election cycle disenchanted with a Washington elite and a mainstream media that is openly hostility to the nation's Judeo-Christian tradition, WND Managing Editor David Kupelian is taking on the role of “Watchman on the Wall” in his new book, “The Snapping of the American Mind: Healing a Nation Broken by a Lawless Government and Godless Culture.”

“America the Beautiful” has become “America the Bizarre,” Kupelian warns as the government openly defies law, Christians are prosecuted as criminals, children “transition” to the opposite sex, the president supports the nation's enemies and 130 million Americans depend on mind-altering substances to cope with life.

Kupelian’s extensive research and footnoting document the “fundamental transformation” of America that began after World War II, when the radical political left put the nation “under withering assault.”

“Families, the bedrock institution of any healthy society, were imploding at an alarming rate. Perverse Supreme Court decisions banned prayer in our schools, yet forced states to legalize, virtually without limitation, the killing of unborn babies,” Kupelian writes.

“There was a major upsurge in atheism and exotic religious cults, along with a rapid coarsening of our culture and ever-increasing sexual anarchy, led most prominently by an explosion of angry, well-organized homosexual activists demanding what ultimately turned out to be a fundamental reordering of Western culture, morality, and law,” he continues, chronicling the 1960s radical revolutionary movements with names like women’s liberation, black liberation, sexual liberation, gay liberation, animal liberation and multiculturism," he says.

Parallel to all of this, Kupelian notes, was “an ever-growing contempt— indeed, demonization — of Christianity, the faith that, along with Judaism, has for centuries provided the essential moral foundation for America and Western Civilization.”

Age of Obama: Marxism 'American style'

Then, elected by an adoring establishment media that anointed him a “political Messiah,” Barack Obama assumed the White House in 2008, developing “a full-fledged cult of personality, with people fainting right and left at his rallies.”

The reality is that in 2008 and again in 2012, millions of Americans pinned their hopes and dreams on an inexperienced, freshman U.S. senator from Illinois whose background included having been raised in Marxism, schooled as a Muslim in Indonesia and trained in the Saul Alinsky techniques of Far-Left radicalism, creating a worldview Kupelian points out Obama has never renounced.

Kupelian argues that after being elected, Obama went about a course of socialist economic bailouts and stimulus packages that set the stage for Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, which has forced millions to lose their health insurance. Obama pushed his progressive agenda on the nation with a “sexual liberation” agenda that was aimed at achieving the ultimate Marxist goal of destabilizing the American family as a prelude to destroying the moral code the Founding Fathers believed was essential for the future of the republic.

“How could it be that hundreds of thousands of Americans fought and bled — and many died — on foreign shores to contain an evil and metastasizing ideology variously called communism, Marxism, socialism, collectivism, or statism, and yet now, just a few years later, we would gaze up at the pinnacle of power in our own country and behold leaders in thrall to essentially the same core ideology we fought and died to protect strangers from?” Kupelian asks.

What has been the result of the “bizarre transformation of America” under Obama?

“Today we have summer camps for children whose parents want to encourage their little ones to change to the opposite gender,” he notes. “We allow Satanic ‘black masses,’ featuring denunciations of Jesus Christ, spitting in holy water, and rituals that include urine, nudity, and sex to be publicized and held in public in the American heartland.”

“Four-year-olds who misbehave in preschool are now handcuffed and carted off to the police station,” Kupelian observes. “Oh, and speaking of handcuffs, good old family-friendly Wal-Mart and Target have taken to promoting and selling sadomasochistic sex toys to cash in on the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ craze.”

Cloward-Piven urban warfare

Kupelian has a sharp eye for the techniques of social change used by the far-left to transform America into their big-government, anti-God culture, including the use of KGB-invented communist disinformation. He notes nasty Marxist words of yesteryear, such as “socialism,” “communism” or “collectivism,” have been replaced by “warm cuddly” progressive terms such as “fairness,” “economic justice,” “redistribution” and “spreading the wealth around.”

He points out how the Obama far-left, advised by 1960s bomb-throwing revolutionaries such as former University of Chicago professor Bill Ayers, employed “Cloward-Pivens” strategies first advanced by two Columbia University sociologists in a 1966 article published in the left-wing publication “The Nation.” The tactic is to overload the social welfare system with applicants, with the ultimate goal of collapsing and bankrupting the free-enterprise system to usher in a fiscal crisis of such magnitude that revolutionary change would be possible.

“It’s what former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel was obliquely admitting when he said: ‘You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is, it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before,’" Kupelian stresses. “The kind of all-powerful government Barack Obama wants is, quite literally, a condition of perpetual crisis.”

Kupelian explains that for Obama the first transformation required was the creation of a politically correct “secret language” with catchphrases aimed at changing how Americans think.

“Americans elevated to the presidency Barack Obama, a Far-Left revolutionary manifestly hostile to free-market capitalism and American exceptionalism—in fact, to just about everything American—but who campaigned using powerfully evocative words of national restoration and reconciliation,” he points out.

“‘Hope,’ ‘change,’ ‘fairness,’ ‘justice,’ ‘reform,’ and ‘transparency’ would usher in a bright new era of healing and unifying America and the world through this charismatic young leader’s post-racial, post-partisan presidency," he continues.

Kupelian concludes: “What we got instead was a jarringly narcissistic, deceitful, reckless, and corrupt Chicago politician, lacking both in experience and wisdom, and displaying breathtaking contempt for America’s Constitution and the magnificent system of government our nation’s founders bequeathed to us.”

Addiction madness

Kupelian examines the world of Barack Obama and the revolutionary far-left in which the leftist “Blue” urban areas pull America down economically and socially with intractable minority poverty, chronic unemployment and bankrupt governments under decades of Democratic Party rule. They war against the “Red” rural areas, where Republicans “cling to God and guns.” The “urban-rural polarization” is growing amid a massive social welfare system in which the city of Detroit has become a harbinger of America’s future.

“Why does Detroit look like a war zone bombed by an enemy power?” Kupelian asks. “Because it has been run for so long by leaders like former mayor Coleman Young, who before reigning over Detroit for almost two decades, had secretly been a member of the Communist Party USA — an organization loyal to an enemy power!”

Meanwhile, Americans have increasingly escaped into the Twilight Zone of a “real zombie apocalypse,” Kupelian writes.

He documents with statistics, case studies and expert analysis that addictions of all kinds, including to alcohol and drugs, the Internet, pornography and food, have become common.

Increasingly, Kupelian points out, addiction therapy has redefined as genetically determined a wide range of what only a few years ago were considered diseases and/or psychological disorders, including even pedophilia.

'Messiahs false and true'

Still, Kupelian does not despair.

He reminds readers that in the final analysis, God’s plan is still operating and beckoning to us, whether we realize it or not.

“Eventually, if we’re willing, our suffering may finally bring us to our knees and cause us to realize our need for a genuine and ongoing relationship with our Creator,” Kupelian encourages.

“But how does that come about?” he asks. “Faith and hope visit us effortlessly on the heels of genuine, sincere repentance. And that requires honest introspection, infused with a little trust in God.”

He urges turning from trust in the false messiahs created by a dishonest and politically partisan media and professional politicians.

“Most Americans — some sooner, some later — have ultimately realized that not only is Obama not a messiah, but he’s almost certainly the most dishonest and perversely anti-Christian president in US history,” Kupelian writes.

“His radical-left administration has caused tremendous harm not just to the nation’s constitutional system of government, its economy, security, and culture—but to its national soul,” he continues.

“That’s because, to ‘fundamentally transform’ a uniquely great and Christian nation like America into just one more pitiful, secular, redistributionist welfare state presided over by an all-powerful nanny government, the American people must be seduced into becoming less Christian and less moral than they once were, less rugged and resilient, less rational and competent, less principled and courageous—in short, they must become lesser people than they once were.”

Kupelian concludes: “This, alas, is the true legacy of the Obama presidency: the degradation and demoralization of America.”

As 2016 approaches, Kupelian urges the tens of millions of Christians who did not vote in 2008 and 2012 out of despair that establishment Republicans have moved to the left, while revolutionary socialists have come to dominate a Democratic Party, to take action.

“Let’s get on with it,” Kupelian urges. “Elect a president who loves America and her Constitution.”

In his final sentences, Kupelian insists, “God knew many would eventually come to their senses and come back home to Him. May it be so with you.”
