Donald Trump, who's leading the polls in the Republican presidential primary, took aim at President Obama's reported executive orders against the Second Amendment, telling a South Carolina crowd that no way, no how would such crackdowns occur under his administration.

"You know, the president is thinking about signing an executive order where he wants to take your guns away," he said during a rally in Anderson, the Hill reported. "You hear about this? Not gonna happen – that won't happen. I think that's a tough one for him to do."
He was referring to Obama's vow to have his attorneys look for ways he could curb gun rights, absent Congress. He's made that threat several times during his presidency, but the latest came after the widely reportedly mass shooting at an Oregon community college.

Trump, however, said Obama's penchant for taking unilateral action is what really needs to be curbed.

"There's plenty of executive orders being signed, you know that," Trump said, the Hill reported. "And we can't let that go on."
Trump on Tuesday on CNN doubled down on his claims, telling host Alisyn Camerota "in my opinion, [Obama] is against the Second Amendment" and reminding "he can't sign an executive order on immigration and he did."
