"Many, many people have tried to explain the various ailments and afflictions bedeviling America today," intoned talk radio legend Barry Farber at the top of his show. "But none has succeeded as blazingly as David Kupelian. His latest book – this belongs on bed tables where alarm clocks go – "The Snapping of the American Mind.'"
One of talk radio's pioneers, Farber, now in his 80s, is ranked by Talkers Magazine as the 9th greatest radio talk show host of all time, and was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame earlier this year.
It was Farber's second hour-long interview in a week's time with Kupelian about his new book, the third in a series of acclaimed culture-war exposés, including "The Marketing of Evil" (just released in paperback) and its sequel "How Evil Works".

Among the burning questions Farber threw at Kupelian was: What on earth has happened to today's Democratic Party? "I remember when Democrats were real salt-of-the-earth people," Farber said, but "JKF would not be allowed to speak at a Democratic convention today!"
Kupelian, noting that with 40-something percent of voters apparently committed to Hillary Clinton no matter how outrageous or criminal the cascading revelations about her, and roughly the same percentage of voters inalterably opposed to her, "the future of the country comes down to six to eight percent" of the undecided voting population.

"Democrats are trying to buy those votes, that's what they do," said Kupelian. It all boils down ultimately to a war of the worldviews, said the bestselling author and WND managing editor:
"One worldview is appealing to the more noble nature of people. And the other one, today's Democratic Party, is … appealing to the lower part of human nature to get people dependent. You know, 'dependent' is not a good thing, that's like being addicted. To get people dependent on you, to cripple people in various ways," said Kupelian, is considered "a mental illness" or a "disorder" when manifested in families, such as when a parent intentionally causes a child to become dysfunctional and pathologically dependent on that parent.

And yet, continued Kupelian, "we have an entire political party that does the same thing! They lie about their opponents and they intentionally try to get people to be dependent on them" for the sake of their loyalty and support. "It is really shocking that more people do not see this and wake up."
Launching into the program's next segment, Farber rhapsodized: "There is an honest argument for saying this is the most important book in print at this moment in American life – 'The Snapping of the American Mind' – every single page like a genie popping out of a bottle."
Observing that at least 39 different nations have already tried socialism and every single one of them has failed, Farber asked Kupelian, "Why is it that after zero successes, people still have hope for socialism, communism, redistributionism?"
"We're making the mistake of thinking these people think in a logical way," Kupelian responded. "David Horowitz, the former '60s leftist who's now a conservative author, says these people – the far left – have contempt for history, have contempt for the track record of those 39 nations. They don't care about history; they [only] care about a utopia that can't exist – not only never has existed, but never will exist, because it violates human nature, which they are in denial of. So my answer is in two parts," said Kupelian.
"Part of it is their arrogance of thinking the only problem with those past [socialist failures in dozens of] countries is that they didn't have the right people to administer it. They need [today's] geniuses – namely Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders. They think they're the guys who can finally make it work.

"But there's another part that I think is even more transcendent and that I think infuses [leftist ideology] with delusion. And that is that it is a religion. … Human beings are basically spiritual creatures," explained Kupelian, with "a moral compass deep down, a deep paradigm of values." Without the Judeo-Christian worldview "that has guided America for centuries," he said, "we're going to adopt a false religion," like socialism.
"The great Winston Churchill referred to socialism as 'the gospel of envy,'" he said. "The gospel – it's a religion, with a religious fervor to it that transcends logic and enables [leftist true-believers] to ignore logic because of the 'transcendent truth' of this – which in this case is a transcendent lie."

Rave reviews
Besides garnering virtually all five-star reviews on Amazon, prominent conservative voices are going wild over Kupelian's latest book. Radio talker and Fox News personality Laura Ingraham, while interviewing Kupelian, told her vast radio audience, "David's a compelling writer, and the way he presents the narrative of what's happened to our political psyche, our spiritual psyche, all of it, is really compelling. It's a page-turner. I really urge you all to get this book."
She added, "Some people may think, 'Oh I already know all this stuff, we're going to hell in a handbasket, why do I need to read it?' Because you need to know the way out! And we need to help each other."
Joseph Farah, who as CEO of WND Books is the publisher of Kupelian's latest work, says "'The Snapping of the American Mind' is so unique and deeply affecting that I believe it could actually influence the presidential race and even the future of our country.”
