In 1969 this country landed men on the moon – a feat no other nation has been able to duplicate yet. In 1989 this country put an end to a cold war that could have had catastrophic consequences for the whole planet. Since then, the only superpower has willingly renounced its leadership and joined the ranks of the so-called United Nations, where the only reality is a cacophony of disunity. Bad choices have long lasting consequences. A chain of bad choices in the past has brought us to a watershed where the direction chosen this time may become irreversible.
Going to the moon scientifically revealed that our planet was built with abundant resources and a self-regulating, resilient climate. See, for details, www.bjambor.com (under "Blog"). We made the bad choice of seeing it as a planet with dwindling resources and a climate that is getting out of whack. The end of the Cold War came as the result of bold moves made by a few visionary leaders. We have elected since then leaders whose vision is to join the ranks of the herd rushing to self-destruction.
The year 2016 is when another momentous choice will be made. We have to see clearly how far we have fallen since we went to the moon and tore down the Berlin Wall. It's not too late to regain our equilibrium, but another bad choice must be out of the question.
