Self-declared socialist Bernie Sanders, who's running for the Democratic Party ticket for president, said the "debate is over," climate change is not only real, but also damaging to the national security of America and the rest of the world.
"I mean, we're talking about, according to the CIA, future, major national security issues when people are forced to migrate because their countries or their land are flooded, they can't grow food," Sanders said in a New Hampshire rally, the Hill reported. "We're talking about a major, major crisis."

Sanders, who hails from Vermont, said climate change skeptics were wrong in their beliefs.

"The debate is over," he said. "Climate change is real, it is caused by human activity and it is already causing profound disturbances all over America and all over the world."

Republicans, he said, should stop "rejecting science" about climate change, the Hill reported.
"Somehow on this issue of climate change, an entire, major political party is rejecting science and that is a very dangerous thing to do," he said.
