On the heels of his ouster from talk-radio giant WABC in New York City, Geraldo Rivera may already have another Big Apple gig in the works.
Rivera was invited Wednesday morning by Joe Piscopo, the former "Saturday Night Live" cast member who now hosts his own talk show, to come work with him at 970 AM The Answer, a New York station owned by Salem Radio Network.

Piscopo coaxed Rivera as Geraldo phoned into Piscopo's show from Paris, France.
"Will you come on the station?" Piscopo urged. "You should come to our station at Salem, man. Will you consider that at least? Look, you come back, sit down. You meet with [Salem officials] Phil Boyce and Jerry Crowley. We should have Geraldo on this radio [station]."

"I remember those guys, but sure," was Rivera's response, not giving any firm answer.

Rivera did stress, however, that he would be taking legal action against Cumulus Media for not renewing his contract for another year.
"I'm gonna sue them when I get back," Rivera told Piscopo, who once actually portrayed Geraldo on a "Saturday Night Live" skit.
Listen to audio of Geraldo Rivera talking with Joe Piscopo:
As WND reported Monday, Rivera, 72, says he was informed just before Thanksgiving by Cumulus officials Mary Berner and Chad Lopez that his contract was not being extended, despite a handshake deal with ousted company chief John Dickey.

"They refused to honor the deal the previous management had made," Rivera said Wednesday.
Rivera was critical of Berner, blasting her as someone with "no broadcast experience," who came to radio "from Reader's Digest."
"She actually took my office unceremoniously. That was the beginning of the end."

Chad Lopez, the market manager for Cumulus told Radio Ink, "We offered Geraldo a new renewal commensurate with the value of his show, which he regretfully chose not to accept. We wish him the best."
Also on Wednesday morning, Rivera, who still has his job on the Fox News Channel, went to Facebook, but made no mention of his radio saga.
In a post titled, "The Paris attacks changed everything," Rivera wrote:
As I write this from Paris, in London the Parliament is debating a dramatic escalation of the War against ISIS, as Britain votes to begin bombing the terrorists in Syria as well as Iraq. In that expected approval of bombing, Britain joins France and Germany in declaring war on the savages who wrought such bloody havoc here in the City of Light on Friday the 13th, killing 139 innocent civilians and injuring hundreds more.
For Germany, the declaration is especially dramatic given the generally non-military stance taken by the German Republic for the last 70 years. Now, Germany is sending more than 1,000 troops and an armed frigate to support the French aircraft carrier already on station to escalate the fight against ISIS.
Similarly, our Defense Secretary Ash Carter just announced that the United States has created a special force of warriors to carry out raids and rescues in the territory controlled by ISIS in Syria and Iraq from which they have launched their monstrous attacks.
President Obama did not want this war and rather than Destroying ISIS his strategy up until now seems to have been Annoying ISIS.
Those days are over. The Paris attacks changed everything.
