Bill O'Reilly, of Fox News hosting fame, chastised presidential candidate Donald Trump in a recent televised interview for his statements on Muslims, telling the Republican front-runner he was actually causing harm to the United States in regard to the White House's fight against ISIS.
O'Reilly first said Trump's idea of keeping out Muslims who weren't U.S. citizens would be "almost impossible" to enforce, and even if it weren't, the policy would isolate America from the Muslim-dominated nations it needs as allies in the war on terror, Mediaite reported.

"You're hurting the United States' position against ISIS" by disallowing any Muslims from overseas nations to enter the country, O'Reilly said, Mediaite reported.

And, he went on: "You can't insult [Muslims] like that. You can't. You can vet them, but you can't insult a whole religion."
Trump denied he was insulting the religion.

"We're not insulting," he said. "This is about security, not about religion. This is about security."
O'Reilly also said to Trump: "I don't think you thought through the unintended consequences."
And Trump's response? He doubled down and said he did.
"Insulting them en masse is not the way [to go]," O'Reilly said.

Trump, meanwhile, said he doesn't see how the United States needs some of those nations with ties to radical Islam to be allies.
"We get nothing for nothing" by cooperating and working with them, Trump said, Mediaite reported.
