Seventy-four years ago Monday, Dec. 7, 1941, Japan launched its historic surprise attack on the U.S. military base at Pearl Harbor.
The two-hour siege of bombing raids destroyed or damaged 18 ships, demolished 188 aircraft, and left 2,403 dead.
In less than a day, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt asked Congress for a declaration of war against Japan – and got it.

Almost immediately, America mobilized industrial and military facilities and thousands of young men volunteered for the military.
Five days ago, in sleepy San Bernardino, California, two jihadi Muslim terrorists attacked a holiday party at the Inland Regional Center with high powered rifles and explosives, killing 14 and wounding 21.

It took three days before it was clearly stated by any official agency (law enforcement or governmental) that it was a terrorist attack. But, even after four days, the man who is president, Barack Hussein Obama, has yet to identify the enemy and say what he plans to do about this worst jihadi attack on our country since Sept. 11.
Americans have been subjected to officials slipping and sliding around the reality that the husband and wife who pulled off the attack did it because of their Muslim beliefs that have, at their roots, a hatred of the West, Christianity, the United States and all it represents.

There are debates as to how and why the woman got into this country, whether she radicalized her husband, whether there was any connection between the attack and ISIS and even whether the attack was planned.
The discovery of bomb-making materials, pipe bombs, ammunition and weapons in their home put a lie to those allegations.
Yet, the "official" response continues to be passive, leaving Americans to wonder: What's going on?
It leaves Americans wondering whose side the administration is on and why.
This attack took place just after the grisly theater attack in Paris and before Saturday's attack in the London subway by a machete-wielding man, and both show Islamic terrorism is not diminishing.

In fact, ISIS brags it has targeted other U.S. cities, namely Washington, D.C., New York, and Las Vegas.
OK – where's the anger? Where are patriotic Americans?
They were there after Pearl Harbor.
Where are the members of Congress with the cojones to speak up – loudly – and demand, yes demand – that the president get out of the clouds and put on the armor of a man who was elected to put the safety and welfare of Americans first?

How did we get to the point where the president hasn't the courage to declare who the enemy is, to name the enemy and to take steps to defeat and destroy the enemy?
Barack Hussein Obama hasn't the courage to call militant Islam the enemy – which it is – because he favors Islam. Regardless of the reason, the result is clear. He is on their side, not on ours. In fact, with all the attacks on the West by militant Islam worldwide, Obama has never used the words militant Islam in connection with terrorism and almost never uses the word terrorism.
Consider that even before the FBI stated that San Bernardino was terrorism, and just the night after the attack, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch told a Muslim group that she promises to prosecute "anti-Muslim speech" that "edges toward violence."
I guess that means we can never say we want to declare war on militant Islamic terrorists.
So much for free speech and the First Amendment.
Between that and Obama's attack on the Second Amendment – urging more and more gun control – it appears the bad guys will continue to have their way with us.
What happened to Americans between 1941 and now? Why did we lose our spine? Where are the angry voices of our citizens, demanding that our government protect us from those who have sworn to destroy us?
And that is exactly what they threaten.
Remember, these are the same people who threaten to wipe Israel off the map – and Obama remains passive.
Remember, President Hollande of France declared war against militant Islam after the Paris attack – and Obama remains passive.
I recall that Sir Winston Churchill, after learning of FDR's response to Pearl Harbor, said he knew Britain and the Allies would win the war because the Americans would be with them.
I hesitate to speculate what he would say today.
Newt Gingrich, historian and former speaker of the House, said last week, "Barack Obama is the greatest national security threat to ever occupy the White House."
I agree. Obama's inaction leaves the door wide open for terrorists – whether by a massive attack or smaller random attacks – to have their way with us.
Experts say, without hesitation, we will be attacked again.
Come on, Americans: Are you willing to see a smoking Washington or New York or maybe have this terror come to your backyard?
We're living on borrowed time – and the clock is ticking.
Barack Obama is ignoring the ringing alarm. Wake him up or replace him.
Think back to Dec. 7, 1941, and, as they said then, remember Pearl Harbor, "the date that will live in infamy."
But also, remember 9/11.
Remember Fort Hood.
Remember San Bernardino.
Remember to ask God to help us.
