Donald Trump, leading Republican for president, took aim at Megyn Kelly of Fox News on Tuesday with a series of Twitter messages expressing disapproval with her recent characterization of his place in the polls.
One tweet: "@megynkelly is very bad at math. She was totally unable to figure out the difference between me and Cruz in the new Monmouth Poll 41 to 14."

In another, Trump wrote: "I won every debate so far according to all debate polls including @DRUDGE_REPORT, @TIME @Slate and more. Too bad dopey @megynkelly lies!"

His frustration with the Fox News star seemed to stem from her Monday evening segment in which she spoke of "Trump getting good news" from the just-released Monmouth University poll. The graphic on the television screen read the poll gave Trump 41 percent, which was a 27 point lead over Sen. Ted Cruz, his closest rival. Kelly, however, only said he was "ahead of the pack 15 points," the Hill reported.

Trump took umbrage.
"I wonder if @megynkelly and her flunkies have written their scripts yet about my debate performance tonight. No matter how well I do – bad!"
He also took a shot at her job performance on Fox, saying in another Twitter post: "@megynkelly, the most overrated anchor at @FoxNews, worked hard to explain away the new Monmouth poll 41 to 14 or 27 pt lead. She said 15!"
The two haven't exactly been on the best of terms this campaign season. Trump memorably sparred with Kelly after the first debate hosted by Fox News in August, leading the presidential contender at one point to temporarily swear off appearances on the cable network.
A Fox News spokesperson told The Hill that there was an error in the script Monday night and that it would be corrected during Tuesday evening's program.
