(IJ REVIEW) – Laurentian University professor Michael Persinger was removed from teaching an introductory psychology course at the Ontario, Canada, school due to a language waiver that students were required to sign.
Described as a "statement of understanding," the document clearly outlines that language used in the class could be considered to be "coarse" and "explicit."
University officials told Persinger that the form was unacceptable and replaced him two months into the semester. They informed him that the form was counter to the campus' respectful workplace policy and human rights codes.
